Program Manager- Karen Brus

MANAGER/NATIONAL PANEL ASSESSOR – KAREN BRUS

Karen has worked for Jobmatch in Gympie since November 1993 in a variety of Roles. She is currently Manager, Supported Wage Assessor, and Workplace Health and Safety Representative. Over the last 14 years with Jobmatch Karen has also been an Employment Coordinator supporting on a variety of work sites which she thoroughly enjoyed. Prior to this, Karen was Service Manager at Coles Supermarket in Gympie and the Gold Coast for 8 years. Karen is currently involved in a variety of community organisations:

  • Gympie Cooloola Rotary
  • Cooloola Schools Cluster
  • Cooloola Access Advisory committee
  • Cooloola Disability Interagency Network
  • And is also a Justice of the Peace Qualified

Karen has also been on the Sunshine Coast Regional Disability Council for the last 3 years.


Quality Assurance Officer - Pam Davidson

PROGRAM MANAGER/NATIONAL PANEL ASSESSOR – PAM DAVIDSON

Prior to joining Jobmatch in 2004, Pam worked for about 2 years for another specialist Disability Employment Service in Gympie. Before this Pam worked for many years in a variety of Customer Service positions for Telstra.

After leaving Telstra, Pam gained qualifications as a Social Worker and is a member of The Australian Association of Social Workers. Pam also gained a Bachelor of Education (Primary Teaching). Both her training and experience in Social Work and Teaching have helped Pam in the placement and support of people with a disability in meaningful employment.


Employment Coordinator - Robin Bailey

EMPLOYMENT COORDINATOR/NATIONAL PANEL ASSESSOR – ROBIN BAILEY

Robin has worked as an Employment Coordinator at Jobmatch in Gympie since November 2001 and recently achieved a Diploma in Disability Services through Wide Bay Tafe.  During this time he spent 6 years as a committee member of the Cooloola Community Housing Association, serving two years as Secretary, at the same time 7 years on the Roadcraft Driver Education Centre Committee.  Prior to this Robin had gained valuable experience as a Real Estate Sales person, a senior instructor at Roadcraft Driver Education Centre in Gympie for 10 years, a vehicle salesman at Madills for 4 years, a Live Linesman with the Queensland Electrical Generating board for 7 years, and spent his early working years as a Motorcycle Mechanic, Salesman and Dealership Manager. Robin finds he regularly draws on these experiences to maximize the results he can achieve for Jobmatch clients.


Employment Coordinator - Shane McHarg

EMPLOYMENT COORDINATOR/NATIONAL PANEL ASSESSOR – SHANE MCHARG

Shane joined the Jobmatch team in November 2001. Prior to this he worked for a large motor group in Gympie servicing customers with their spare parts and automotive paint needs. In this period of employment Shane formed good working relationship with many business owners. Due to these relationships he has been able to promote Jobmatch and seek employment opportunities. Shane has lived in the Gympie area all of his life and has noticed a lot of changes within a short period of time. Business growth is a good thing for the community as it presents employment prospects. Shane enjoys the challenges of meeting new business owners and the opportunity to promote Jobmatch.


Employment Coordinator - Ben Smith

EMPLOYMENT COORDINATOR/NATIONAL PANEL ASSESSOR – BEN SMITH

Ben joined the Jobmatch team mid 2007. Prior to this he has worked in the recruitment industry for 3 years. He has also had 1 year working with the Job Network organisations. Along with his recruitment skills he brings a good knowledge of the Hospitality and Construction industries. Ben moved to Gympie in 2005 where he commenced working for Job Networks and now has a good knowledge of businesses in the Gympie Region. Ben enjoys working for the Disability Employment Network. He loves taking on the challenges that people with special needs face when looking for employment.


Employment Coordinator - Joanne Jackson

EMPLOYMENT COORDINATOR & QUALITY COORDINATOR – JOANNE PENGELLY

Joanne has had over 8 years experience in Job Network Services and recently joined our team in June 2009. Having lived in Gympie for most of her life, Joanne has been actively involved in a number of local sporting and community groups. Joanne has a special interest in Autistic Spectrum Disorders and is finding the change to Disability Employment Services very rewarding.


Employment Coordinator - Jo Fanshaw

EMPLOYMENT COORDINATOR – JO FANSHAW

Jo joined the Jobmatch Team in 1999 as an Administration Office and 18 months later progressed to be an Employment Coordinator, believing that her various retail experience around Gympie would really benefit her clients. Jo took leave in 2002 and 2007 to raise her family and now works part time as an Employment Coordinator. Jo has lived in the Gympie Region for her whole life and likes to be involved with her children’s schooling and other outside interests like dancing, swimming and cricket. Jo enjoys the challenge and diversity that Jobmatch offers and endeavours to find the right job for each of her clients.

 


Employment Coordinator - Jill Betts

EMPLOYMENT COORDINATOR – JILL BETTS

Jill joined the Jobmatch team in May 2005. Prior to this Jill has worked in both the pharmacy and hospitality industries and has several years experience in both areas. Jill was born and has lived all her life in Gympie and has extensive knowledge of the local area. Jill enjoys working at Jobmatch and finds the work both rewarding and challenging. A great sense of satisfaction is achieved when clients achieve there goal of gaining employment.


Employment Coordinator - Shelly Wilson

EMPLOYMENT COORDINATOR – SHELLY WILSON

Shelle joined the Jobmatch team in December 2006. Prior to this she has owned and operated a successful café for 12 years. During this time she developed a close relationship with Jobmatch as an employer. Along with her above skills she brings a good knowledge of the hospitality and agricultural. Shelly is married with 3 grown children and has lived in Gympie most of her life. Shelly has been involved with Pony Club, St Patrick’s’ College and Primary Schools.


Employment Coordinator - Gary Smith

EMPLOYMENT COORDINATOR – GARY SMITH

Gary joined the Jobmatch team in December 2009. Prior to this he worked in retail for 14years, where he gained a lot of experience in dealing with the public as well as suppliers from the local area. He has also worked in a supervisory role and has skills involving the receiving and dispatching of goods, and a firm knowledge of OH&S and Food Safety policies and procedures. Being born and raised in Gympie he possesses a good knowledge of the local area and the businesses in the region. He also has a passion for Computers and modern technology. Gary has a willingness to help others wherever he can and is not afraid of hard work.


Employment Coordinator - Maree McNaught

EMPLOYMENT COORDINATOR – MAREE McNAUGHT

Maree joined the team at Jobmatch in February 2010. She has come to the organization with extensive experience in the employment industry having worked in various roles including Team Leader for Job Networks and CES over a period of 20 years. This experience has provided Maree with valuable contacts and she is a well respected member of the community.

Having been actively involved in various sporting and community organisations since moving back to Gympie in 1993 has presented Maree with the opportunity to broaden her networks.

Maree finds working with people who have special needs is very rewarding and worthwhile and she takes pride in using her knowledge and skills to assist them achieve their goals.


Employment Coordinator - Max Gilmore

EMPLOYMENT COORDINATOR – MAX GILMORE

Max joined Jobmatch in May 2010. Previous to this Max owned his own Business for 15 Years. During this time, He had a lot of dealings with the community and has made a lot of connections within the Public and Business areas.

Max was born and raised in the Gympie and played football for Brothers Ruby League Club for many years.

He has a vast knowledge of the local area. His main interests are his family and antiques.


Administration Officer - Judy Punter

ADMINISTRATION OFFICER – JUDY PUNTER

Judy started work at Jobmatch in July 2007 as an Administration Officer. She has had a lot of experience in the Administration field having worked at the Cooloola Regional Development Bureau for nearly 7 years as the Office Manager. Judy has also worked in the hospitality and child care fields. Judy has been involved with Gympie Blue Light Discos, various schools and sporting organisations. Judy is a local girl who enjoys helping the local community and making Gympie a great place to live.


Adminsitration Officer - Deanne Learoyd

ADMINISTRATION OFFICER – DEANNE LEAROYD

Deanne commenced work with Jobmatch in 1997 as Administration Officer. Prior to this, she worked in a variety of hospitality and clerical positions. Deanne has also worked as an Employment Co-ordinator for Jobmatch and held the position of Quality Assurance Officer. Deanne took leave in 2007 to raise her family and is now working part time in the role of Administration Officer. She has been involved in a number of community organisations and has held the position of Treasurer of Gympie Women’s Health and Treasurer of Gympie Chamber of Commerce.


Administration Assistant - Anna Taraschtschuk

ADMINISTRATION ASSISTANT – ANNA TARASCHTSCHUK

Anna began employment with Jobmatch in February 2008. A resident of Gympie for some twenty years, Anna has been involved in several community organisations including Gympie and District Community Centreplace and Cooloola Christian Radio. Anna enjoys theatrical productions, travelling and playing scrabble.
